In order to improve and transform our society and each of the spaces that we are a part of , from FLOR we implement and develop different kind of activities, initiatives and actions that fall into the following four central-concepts or central-themes: Diversity, Responsible Organizations, Leadership and Local Development.
The respect for diversity implies that the group of values, visions, cultures, organizational knowledge, methodologies and the knowledge that each individual and each group of people possess are at the disposal of others.
Each individual has his or her own identity which is defined by their unique characteristics and that it is also formed by their personal development and life experiences. This individuality and difference is what characterizes us and distinguishes us from the rest. It also ensures the multiplicity of view points, approaches towards a topic and also the understanding of each one of them.
To Foster as well as to celebrate the existence of the different ways of understanding the world allow us to develop new answers and innovative proposals. As well as generating transformations, finding better solutions and building a more inclusive society.
During these first years FLOR has placed a special emphasis on disability as well as on gender equality and diversity. What we are looking for through FLOR is not only to encourage ourselves but also to strengthen by means of our own differences so that we can work together with the complementarities of the different cultures, age groups, styles, skills and abilities together with training at all institutional and organizational levels.
Companies, institutions, clubs, cooperators, associations, organizations in general are a privileged place from which we can promote changes in our environment.
With a special focus on family businesses and SMEs, we believe it is important to promote them by helping them grow responsibly as they are an important social, cultural and economic engine of our countries.
The development of good governance practices in all areas of which we are a part, active participation, communication, transparency, clear rules of the game, accountability and successor training are some of the practices that we want to promote as a sine qua non condition for the sustainability of organizations and, finally, the society in which we live.
To lead is to mobilize and guide others to accomplish their dreams and also to include them in a common vision of the world that will enable them to create a better version of their own.
FLOR seeks to encourage participation as well as the commitment of people towards what they do and also towards the people who surround them. We want leaders to listen carefully to others who are interested as well as they are in helping people. We want them to be aware of their own influence and to assume responsibility for that. We want to train and empower leaders who possess an understanding of the impact of their actions in every area or group of interest. We want our leaders to be interested in the common welfare with a short, medium and long term perspective. We want our leaders to understand that any change of our surroundings we wish to accomplish should start from ourselves and we should be aware of that so as to accept ourselves as a powerful changing engine.
Part of a responsible leadership is to commit to the surroundings and the community to which we belong to. This is the reason why we believe in the importance of the guidance and implementation of actions that foster and facilitate the local development. And when we talk about development we include not only the local one but also the economic, political, institutional, social and cultural ones. We think that they feed our roots and that they guarantee that our communities are a good place to live in and to accomplish ourselves.
Every program and project that we support is orientated towards the overcoming of difficulties and challenges. From our perspective, we encourage the inclusion in any possible way as well as the improvement of the life conditions through articulated actions with all the local, public, private and social actors.
We are very certain about the fact that the sum of several wills behind a common objective multiply and strengthen the outcomes. We think that this is the best example to inspire and transmit it to other local leaders.
